Future of Teaching Methods

The coronavirus pandemic has upended the world of Education forever. Learning in schools and colleges will be very different after the Corona era.

Teachers are learning fast and adapting to the use of digital learning tools. We see many of those who were very hesitant trying out before, are using now. Online learning is better and more effective.

The main advantage of online learning is convenience and reach. It helps learners transcend barriers of time and distance. Teachers can expand the size of classrooms with more students. Students can choose any digital content mode relevant to them like ebooks, journals, videos, and recorded lectures. Contents can be built to cater to multiple learning styles of students.

Why Online Learning is better:

  1. It is students’ centered
  2. It allows reaching out to large numbers of students
  3. E-learning is cost-effective than classroom-based learning
  4. Students can learn on their own speed with live & recorded sessions
  5. It allows innovative methods of teaching using online tools

Online education allows teachers to innovate methods of teaching by using creative online tools. As it is an online service, reaching out to large numbers of students is easy. Teachers have also registered a few disadvantages like, it lacks face to face connections, or online evaluation of students becomes difficult.

For students, it’s a bit different. For them, each lesson and video lecture is like a private conversation. It's an opportunity for teachers to become true facilitators of learning. Students can work on their own speed with live & recorded sessions.

In India, students are also facing a few challenges in accessing online classroom from home due to connectivity issues in remote areas. Also, the slow internet in non-urban areas generates difficulty in downloading course materials.

Before COVID-19, only 3% of students were learning online worldwide, and after COVID-19 this percentage surged to 100%. Students and teachers both are able to adapt to this sudden change. Some of them were already prepared for it as they were having better tools and were already trained in conducting online classes.

Sri Technocrat has supported many top national institutes like IIT, IISER, JNCASR, etc by enabling them with many educational packages like ERP, Academic Management, Online Evaluation, and Live Video Lectures.
